Gujarat Gram Panchayat Election Results in 2021 The counting of votes for Gujarat Gram Panchayat elections 2021, which are seen as a litmus test for political parties ahead of the next year’s Assembly elections in the state, will be held today.

Polls were held on Sunday to 8,686-gram panchayats and 48,573 wards using 37,000 ballot boxes across more than 23,000 booths in which the average voter turnout was over 77 percent.

As per the election rules of such local self-government organizations, District Election Officer for Panchayat elections, District Municipal Election Officer for elections of the municipality, and City Election Officer for the elections of the municipal corporation have been appointed.

The state election commission has empowered the collectors for all activities related to elections of Gram Panchayat whereas the delimitation and allocation of seats for various reserved categories, voter’s list, election programs, and other related activities are carried out by the State Election Commission. According to Sinha, the total number of registered voters for these polls is over 1.89 crore, including 90.82 lakh women. Polling will be held at 25,454 booths in 91,002 wards.

The scrutiny of the nominations will be carried out on the December 6 and the last day for withdrawal of application forms will be on December 7. Polling will be held on December 19 from 7 am to 6 pm.”

The commissioner further said that the entire polling process will be declared complete on December 24. If required, re-polling will be held on December 20. The Commissioner also declared the polling dates for the division and by-elections for other gram panchayats.

“The polling for general elections will be for 10,117 villages consisting of 88,211 wards. Division elections will be for 65 villages and by-polls will be for 923 wards of 697 villages,” added Prasad.

The Panchayat elections will be held in a total of 27,085 polling centers and a total of 54,387 ballot boxes will be required. There are a total of 2,06,53,374 voters registered out of which 1,06,46,524 are male and 1,00,06,850 are female.
